What is D&T
●D&T, or design and technology, is a branch of STEM focusing on the practical applications of Science. This is done through learning the skills of design, and working with one’s hands. It is a way to inculcate creative thinking by building things. Skills developed through D&T are becoming increasingly important in today’s world, be it through design thinking, application of theoretical knowledge, or developing ideas.
What are we doing
Inculcating the concepts of Design and Technology from a young age
I recently worked to set up a Design and Technology Lab in my school. In order to introduce younger students to the concepts of D&T before the lab opens, I am organizing and conducting an online D&T Class for students of classes 6 - 9. There are over 100 participating students and this is the website from where students can access the class resources and recorded lectures that they missed.
